Originally from Manhattan, N.Y., Emanela (Emy) Silvagni was raised in an Italian household and learned to cook with her mother from the time she could sit on the counter. She loved Italian cooking and was thrilled when she was offered the opportunity to take cooking classes in Italy. It was there that she truly discovered her passion for cooking the standard Italian fare of pastas, rich cheeses and decadent desserts.
As Emy continued to cook such mouthwatering meals, her weight ballooned to 230lbs. As she watched her young son grow up, she had an epiphany that she needed to take control of her health before it was too late. Emy began researching nutrition extensively and used that knowledge to develop healthy, nutritious, delicious meals to help her succeed. She immediately lost 60lbs. She then began researching physiology and incorporated exercise in her weight loss efforts and mission to achieve a healthy lifestyle that resulted in an additional loss of 40lbs.
After losing 100lbs in under a year, Emy found herself with several personal training clients. Her success as a personal trainer led her to leave her corporate career to help her clients achieve their goals full time. In her role as personal trainer, she helped her clients meet their nutritional needs by leveraging her experience as a chef. She quickly became a sought-after and highly regarded Fitness Chef.
She was introduced to ALR Industries’ products by a fellow personal trainer in 2008. Emy quickly recognized the profound positive effects on her health and physique. She immediately incorporated products like HumaPro® into her client’s nutrition plans. Shortly thereafter, she chose to join ALR Industries to showcase the benefits of the ALR Industries entire product line by demonstrating them at fitness competitions. While traveling across the country to various events, Emy began creating recipes that incorporated ALR Industries products like HumaPro® and Chain’dOut® for fitness competitors. Soon she was known as the HumaPro® lady and Chef Emy. She began working closely with ALR Industries CEO, Author L. Rea and Executive Vice-President, Laina Rea to develop a video series “Cooking with Chef Emy” that creates delicious and nutritional meals from products like HumaPro®.
Emy is passionate about animals and has been involved with multiple rescue groups in her native state of New York, as well in Texas where she currently resides and acts as the Corporate Administrator for ALR Industries Texas warehouse facility.
