Louis “The Big Sexy” Urdel,
ACSM, NASM, ISSA-CPT AND SPN, NESTA, AFTA
Training Events, Personal Trainer and NPC Bodybuilder
Jack-of-all-trades and Master of them, too! It takes chops to earn the nickname “The Big Sexy,” and if his multiple accreditations and certifications are any indication, Louis Urdel has worked hard to achieve what this illustrious nickname requires.
As a gifted athlete growing up just outside of Chicago, successful athletes inspired him. He wanted to look like Lee Haney and dunk like Michael Jordan, and so his lifetime of helping himself and others achieve their fitness goals began. Lou started training his calves in 6th grade to improve his basketball skills. Little did he know that his dedication at such a young age would pay off by awarding him a Track & Field scholarship to the prestigious Indiana University where he earned his B.A. in Criminal Justice and History.
While attending law school at DePaul University, Lou found that his grueling law studies prevented him from living the healthy life he grew to enjoy as a NCAA Division I athlete. He decided to drastically change his eating habits and began working out more. He quickly lost 40lbs and his classmates took notice of his success and asked if he could help them as well. Lou then began training his classmates in exercise and nutrition and then soon became a certified Personal Trainer. He soon began competing and is now a well-recognized MPC Bodybuilder.
Once he graduated with his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University, Lou then wanted to further his understanding of the inner workings of the human body, so he then attained an M.S. in Biomechanics from Westport University. While he attacked legal documents during the day, his personal training business skyrocketed at night. such as Lagarius Smith of the USMC. He currently trains USMC athletes Terry Placker, Patrick McIntyre and Thomas Welsh, as well as other clients who are serious about getting results and pushing themselves to reach their goals.
Lou’s success and commitment to his clients attracted the attention of ALR Industries where he soon became one of their most popular sponsored athletes. He later joined ALR Industries full time where he currently helps to educate ALR clients about the benefits of HumaPro® and other ALR Industries products at events across the United States and globally. In addition to education at events, Lou directly oversees the social media team at ALR Industries that focuses on exercise, nutrition and training education. Lou’s mission is to continually show how proper nutrition using products like HumaPro® paired with dedicated exercise can help you achieve the results you want.
